I rarely read fiction anymore because there are so many better written, and more interesting biographies, natural history, travel adventures, anthropology, history, science, and other books. Usually I feel like I’ve wasted my time. But I love poetry, a joy in so many ways, the vivid language, the deep insights into the minds and worlds of other people. The best poetry is what you hear live, at cafes, poetry readings, or writing groups.
